FPI Launches the Diversity Scholarship Award!

– The Financial Planning Institute (FPI) of Southern Africa, has recently launched the FPI Diversity Scholarship Programme. The programme has been developed to assist with its mission to develop strategies to raise awareness and promote inclusiveness of diverse communities including but not limited to race, ethnicity and gender within the financial planning profession.
The award is open, and will be presented, to any person willing to demonstrate and act upon an intense desire to affect the diversity of the financial planning profession, including but not limited to:
raising awareness of the profession in diverse communities;
serving diverse communities with financial planning; and/or
increasing professional opportunities for diverse communities within the financial planning profession.
The programme will recognise individuals who have shown commitment to diversity and inclusion excellence by making a positive impact on various ethnic groups, races and diverse cultures.
“As a leading professional body, we at FPI recognise the importance of acting as a champion of diversity and inclusion, increasing awareness of, and sensitivity to these important concepts within the Institute, the financial planning community, and the financial services industry in general”, said Godfrey Nti, FPI CEO.
“Launching this scholarship, in line with the FPI Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan, provides the Institute with an opportunity to reinforces the importance of, and the role we play in, transforming the profession and the industry as a whole” added Nti.

The scholarship may be presented to more than one person (a maximum of 10 individuals), and each will receive:
Convention registration fee (up to R6,000).
VIP attendance and mention at FPI Annual Awards Ceremony Gala Dinner.
Hotel accommodations for the convention during the event (up to two 2 days capped at R3,000).
Travel to and from the convention city (capped at R4,000).
One-year paid individual membership for the Financial Planning Institute (if applicable).
One-year free subscription to The Financial Planner magazine.
One profile article published in The Financial Planner magazine.
The winner of this scholarship will be mentioned at the 2017 FPI Awards Ceremony Gala Dinner held on 19 October 2017 in Cape Town, including all 2017 FPI award winners as well as the coveted FPI Financial Planner of the Year.
