Standards Homepage
Living in a global village means adhering to global standards such as the international CFP® certification/mark. This is in line with our aim to maintain ethics and set world-class standards. We will continue to uphold the internationally adopted 8 ethics principles; integrity, client first, objectivity, competence, fairness, confidentiality, professionalism and diligence which are the foundation of our CFP® professionals, AFP™ and RFP™ professional members’ interactions with their clients. We also aim to continue to raise awareness through member audits regarding the importance of the correct use of the FPI Marks, maintenance of CPD points and FPI’s Code of Ethics.
FPSB Activities
The FPSB has launched a FINANCIAL PLANNER Competency Profile that establishes standards for the financial planning profession globally and benefits members of the public seeking competent and ethical FINANCIAL PLANNERS. The profile describes the full range of abilities, skills and knowledge needed to competently deliver financial planning to clients, and will serve as the framework from which the FPSB will develop international CFP® Certification requirements and Standards going forward. “The FBSB chose to describe the abilities, skills and knowledge expected of anyone practicing financial planning to benefit clients and potential clients around the world who are looking to identify an appropriately qualified financial planner” (2007: FPSB website). The FPI is part of this international FPSB Standards Working Group for the affiliate countries to agree on and internationally accepted Code of Ethics and Practice Standards. These rules will be adopted to comply with local conditions and regulations. Please visit the FPSB website for further information : www.fpsb.org. |
