The FPI’s Use of Marks guide contains guidelines to the users of the FPI marks, logos and trademarks. Its purpose is to be the document of reference for the FPI’s members, the media and other stakeholders. . The wrongful use or the incorrect use of these marks can lead to legal action as the FPI is contractually bound to act on the misuse of these marks. Contraventions of the use of the CFP® mark must be reported to the FPSB and the AFP™ and RFP™ marks, owned by the FPI, are protected by SA law regarding the authorised use of these marks. The CFP® mark is used on contract as authorised by the FPSB . The FPI has, in terms of the affiliation agreement as alluded to above, the duty to protect this mark in South Africa.
