2010 FPI CHAIRMAN’S AWARD RECIPIENT, MS PREM GOVENDER!!
Ms Prem Govender was awarded the inaugural 2010 FPI Chairman’s Award at the annual Convention Gala Dinner on 26 May 2010 at Emperors Palace.
"This year the person receiving the award has dedicated herself , both locally and internationally, to promoting the FPI and the financial planning profession.”, said Gerhardt Meyer, FPI Chairperson.

Prem runs her own financial planning, accounting and tax firm, established by her late father in 1962. She is a former chairperson of the Financial Planning Institute of Southern Africa and currently serves as a Director on the Board of the Financial Planning Standards Board which is the international standards setting body for financial planners worldwide. She serves on both the Financial Services Board’s (FSB) FAIS Advisory Committee and the Advisory Committee for Long Term Insurance. She is also a member of the Policy Board of the FSB and is the newly appointed chair of the South African Savings Institute. She is a CFP® Professional and holds a B Com (Accounting) and an M Com (Taxation) degree as well as an Advanced Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning, specialising in Investments and Estate Planning.
This award recognises an individual who has made life-long outstanding contributions to the financial planning profession in the areas of service to society, academia, training, government, media or any other professional activities. The nominee must also exemplify the FPI’s ethics principles of client first, integrity, objectivity, fairness, professionalism, competence, confidentiality and diligence.
