The 2012 FPI Financial Planning Week will be held from 26 November to 30 November across the country. This campaign is aimed at educating consumers about dealing with a professional financial planner and the importance of financial planning. Financial Planning Week will consists of the following three main events:

Consult a professional financial planner – for FREE
Consumers can make appointments with participating financial planners and practices, where the following will be covered:
  • What is a financial plan?
  • Why must you have a financial plan?
  • Why must a professional financial planner develop a financial plan?

Consumer Clinics
This programme will be open to all South African consumers and involves one-on-one consultations with FPI members who make themselves available to offer guidance and information about any aspect of the individual’s finances or financial management. During the clinics, consumer will be given more information about what is financial planning, what are the benefits of financial planning, what questions to ask your financial advisors, what is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and where to find a CFP® professional. This will be done in a form of a presentation after which consumers will have the opportunity to consult with a CFP® professional.

Exhibition
To raise more awareness around financial planning, exhibitions at major shopping malls in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg and Pretoria will be held as follows:

 Pavillion Mall, Durban
