The first-ever Retirement Expo titled Retire in Style, which was held at the Coca-Cola Dome in Johannesburg from 28-30 October 2011. The event offered everything required for those planning their retirement or looking to add to their current retirement lifestyle. The FPI exhibited at this event and offered information and guidance to visitors on how to find the right financial planner. We also explained why the FPI is so important in the industry and the role it plays as a professional body.

Interactive workshops
All visitors received free access to exciting and informative workshops at the expo. A range of expert speakers presented relevant up to date advice on the following topics and many more:
      World of Work in the 21st Century for Baby Boomers.
      The Next Chapter- Planning your life.
      New Generation of Retirees and their expectancies from life.
      The Silent Epidemic.
      Your Retirement: in control, or in crises?
        The FPI sponsored one of the session for each of the three days of the expo. These were run by FPI's 2011 Financial Planner of the Year finalists, Jan-Carel Botha and Shaun Latter, who are both CFP® professionals.
