This level of professional membership through the Financial Planning Institute, is the start on a career path, for the enrolling member, in the profession of financial planning. To enrol as a member at this level, the applicant needs to:
| Be in possession of an appropriate NQF level 5 qualification |

| Paid the annual membership fee to the Financial Planning Institute (which includes the FPI Accreditation fee). |
 | Have been declared fit and proper by the Financial Planning Institute |
 | Have completed a Board Assessment successfully |
| Have at least one years relevant practical experience |
In addition, in order to retain membership, 40 Continued Professional Development points (CPD) needs to be earned on a 2-year cycle. Please read further regarding ongoing membership requirements in "Standards", "Member Discipline".
