The ultimate accolade

Jan-Carel Botha (centre), of Ultima Financial Planners in Pretoria, was named the Financial Planner of the Year for 2012 at the annual convention of the Financial Planning Institute in Johannesburg this week. Representing the sponsors of the award are Laura du Preez, assistant editor of Personal Finance, and Advocate Wessel Oosthuizen, director of the Centre for Financial Planning Law at the University of the Free State.

Jan-Carel Botha, of Ultima Financial Planners in Pretoria, was named the Financial Planner of the Year for 2012 at the annual convention of the Financial Planning Institute in Johannesburg on June 20. The award honours those financial planners who, on the basis of financial plans, audits of their practices and a panel interview, are judged as having reached the top of their profession. Botha was a finalist for the award in 2010 and 2011. Shaun Latter, of Quaestor Wealth Management, and Colin Long, of Consolidated Financial Planning, were finalists for the award.
